small but looks great! This belt sits at the true waist, is about 5" wide, and is elasticized but not otherwise adjustable. M/L just fits me at 32" waist. It doesn't curl up or get that over-stretched-elastic shine, though, so it looks GREAT at the top end of the fit range - you get major cinching. I got this in black with a silver buckle; the version on the web may have a gold buckle (I think the store had both, as well as the natural with gold buckle.) This is great over a bodycon dress, or with a pencil skirt or plain slacks and a simply-cut blouse. I got mine to go with a leopard print dress - it would be great with other animal prints or houndstooth too - and with black bottoms + white or jeweltone tops. The black would also be wonderful over a solid dress or top in this year's strong blues, teal, purple, or any red/berry shade, as well as black/white/grey. This belt does NOT work over jeans (or any other bulky pants, like cords). I don't think it would go well over diagonal or vertical stripes/colorblocking, or with most peplum-ruffle styles.
