How do you pronounce the name of your company? What does bebe mean?
It is pronounced "bee-bee." bebe was founded as a San Francisco boutique in 1976 by Manny Mashouf, the company's Chairman and Founder. The name bebe was selected because it represented the philosophy of the time ("to be or not to be") as well as other multilingual meanings including the Persian name for the queen in a deck of cards and the Turkish word for woman.

How many stores do you have?
bebe Stores, Inc. currently operates 312 stores, of which 215 are bebe stores, 13 are 2b bebe stores, 19 are bebe outlet stores, 64 are BEBE SPORT stores and 1 is a bebe accessories store. These stores are located in the United States, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and Canada. In addition, there is an online store at www.bebe.com.

Do you offer internships?
bebe currently offers select internship opportunities. Internships are educationally focused, non-paid, and based in our exciting merchandising and design studio in Los Angeles. A fashion education is recommended in order to take part in our eight or twelve week programs in design, merchandising, or production. Do you license or sell products through wholesale?
Our apparel is sold exclusively in bebe retail stores. We do not offer bebe products at wholesale or through other means of distribution.

We have International bebe stores in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Israel and the United Arab Emirates.

How do I become a model?
bebe works closely with modeling agencies in hiring talent. To be considered, you must be represented by an agency that can contact us on your behalf.

How can I get one of your large poster ads?
Our posters change every season and are discarded once they are replaced with new ones. Posters from previous seasons are not made available to the public.

How can I find an item that's sold out?
Contact our Client Services department, provide them with the item's SKU or style number, and they will do a company-wide search for that item. Once they have located it in one of our stores, they will provide you with a phone number so you can place your order directly with that store.

What is bebe Stores, Inc.’s current policy regarding the use of fur?
bebe recently announced it has discontinued ordering any further product containing real animal fur.

As background, the use of real fur has never been an integral part of bebe's design strategy and, when used, only on an extremely limited basis as a small part of our overall collection. Over the past 12 months, bebe affirmatively reduced its fur presentation to appearing on less than 3% of its overall offering. Because bebe has always believed in the humane treatment of animals, even during such limited use, bebe took steps to help ensure the ethical treatment of animals by requiring that only limited and byproduct fur would be used so that no animals were taken for the sake of their fur alone.
